Henderson County Democratic Party press release
Henderson County was well represented at the Wendy Davis for Governor of Texas Campaign Rally in Tyler on Saturday, March 15, with County Democratic Chairperson Marsha Head leading a group of 15 including (pictured) County Secretary Margie Lynch, Wendy Davis, Chairperson Head and County Treasurer Cherie Tanneberger.
At the Tyler Rally, held at Stanley’s Famous Pit Bar-B-Q, an enthusiastic crowd of more than 200 supporters was inspired and excited as Senator Davis of Fort Worth spoke of her role in the Senate where she fought hard for more educational funding, increased regulation of predatory pay-day lenders and women’s rights, including equal pay and equal care access. She focused on her role as a voice for all the people of Texas and said the enthusiasm surrounding her campaign as been evident on similar stops across the State.
“It’s time we have someone in the governor’s office, who rather than defending business as usual, is going to defend and fight for the people in this state and make sure they have the brightest future possible,” she said.
In commenting on the Governor’s Race and the Davis Tyler Rally, Henderson County Chairperson Marsha Head said, “Wendy Davis will be a great Governor. Wendy understands the needs of the people of Texas, she cares about serving the People and she will fight for the rights of all the People. The people of Texas need Wendy Davis as the next Governor.”
