Be careful on the roads in Athens this week.
The City of Athens announced on its Facebook page Monday that crews work be working this week on more than 18,725 feet of city streets.
The roads include:
- N. Prairieville
- Edmonson
- Jonathan
- S. Wofford
- Humphrey
- Clifford
- Owens
- Carroll
- Dove Creek
- W. College
- Live Oak
“Please slow down when you see construction signs, and help keep workers safe as we improve our city streets,” reads the Facebook post.
Interim Public Works Director Gordon Mayer told Rich Flowers of the Athens Review: “Anytime there is construction, we ask that the motorists take care. We don’t want to lose any workers. Also driving too fast, they run the risk of a loose rock doing damage to their windshields.”
