City and county officials were hard at work Sunday morning with recovery efforts after tornadoes hit Henderson County.

The US National Weather Service confirmed at least two tornadoes, one in the Caney City area and one in the Eustace area. A third tornado devastated Canton.

Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said 11 county residents were treated and released at ETMC Gun Barrel City and 36 residents went to ETMC Athens.

He said that two patients were in critical condition.

Hillhouse said officials were out this morning assessing damage and trying to determine immediate needs. (See interview recorded live below)

One definite need is water for the City of Eustace and surrounding area. Eustace Mayor Elicia Sanders this morning called on residents to conserve water and to boil water before consumption.

Water can be donated at Eustace City Hall.

Pct. 2 Commissioner Wade McKinney said there were a lot of large trees and power lines down and work continues to remove those. (See interview recorded live below)

Damage around Eustace from the tornado was severe in some locations. I put together the Snapchat video at the top of this story as I traveled around the area. (@mvhannigan)
