Plaque for W.P. “Rip” Drumgoole Field to be unveiled

The Athens City Council this month approved TVCC’s request to rename the Lady Cardinal Softball Field the W. P. “Rip” Drumgoole Field at Cain Park.

A bronze plaque will be unveiled during lunch after the W.P. “Rip” Drumgooole Homecoming Golf Classic at Athens Country Club on Friday, Oct. 23. To participate in the four-person scramble, register with Gaylord Walden in the pro shop as soon as possible. Cost is $50 per player. If you don’t play in the tournament you can still join everyone for lunch and the unveiling for $10 at the door.

Events are already being planned for a dedication ceremony at the field at a Lady Cardinal double head header in early April.
