Former Cross Roads athletic director/head boys basketball coach Jeff Thorpe was named the recipient of the 2016 C.O. Phillips Memorial Award Friday afternoon at the 29th annual Coaches Playday at The Pinnacle. The award is presented each year to an ambassador for the game of golf in honor of former Malakoff coach and longtime Coaches Playday participant who died in the summer of 2000. The team of (from left) Chip Souza, Steve Tardiff, Dan Youngman and Ronny Snow fired a 12-under-par 60 Friday afternoon to claim a 5-shot win in the 29th annual Coaches Playday at The Pinnacle. TVCC to be represented in College National Finals Rodeo

Trinity Valley Community College rodeo team member Tyson Arledge, from Milano, Texas, will be representing TVCC in Tie Down Roping at the 2016 College National Finals Rodeo June 12-18 in Casper, Wyoming.

The top three individuals regionally in each event earned a spot to compete for a national title. There are 11 regions in the United States. TVCC, along with 20 other colleges and universities, are in the Southern Region.
