After 27 years at Cross Roads ISD as a teacher and administrator, Clay Tompkins will see his last graduation tonight as superintendent.
Tompkins will soon be stepping down as superintendent at CRISD this summer … but he isn’t going very far, at least not right away.
Tompkins has announced his resignation effective at the end of the summer, but he will remain with the school district in an advisory role to help the new superintendent and the school board through the 2013-2014 school year. Air Force Airman Hunter B. Thornton graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Thornton is the son of Tammy Thornton of Brownsboro.
He is a 2012 graduate of Brownsboro High School.
