Mrs. Berry passed away Tuesday in Tyler.

Lou was born Sept. 28, 1946 in Bryan, Texas to the late Alvin Frank and Elizabeth Helen Simecek Quitta. She had been a resident of Murchison for the last five years moving there from Lindale. She was a very talented seamstress and loved to crochet. There was nothing that she couldn’t make. She loved gardening and especially loved the time she spent with her family.

Obituary: Miguel ‘Mike’ Leon

MikeFuneral Services for Miguel “Mike” Leon, 41, of Athens are scheduled for noon Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Sergio Tinoco officiating. Interment will follow at Athens Cemetery under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.

Mr. Leon passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016 in Dallas, Texas.

Miguel Angel Leon was born July 21, 1974 in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico the son of Ramon Leon and Alicia Morales. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Athens. He was an incredibly thoughtful man who had a heart for making people feel special with his constant outpouring of generosity. He was also an avid sports fan who loved watching football, especially the San Francisco 49ers. Miguel was a loving husband, son, grandson, father, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed by all he knew and loved.

Obituary: Noel Tumlinson

Tumlinson , NoelFuneral services for Noel Tumlinson, 80, Athens have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016 at Living for the Brand Cowboy Church with Rev. Dale Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Moorehead Melton Cemetery.

Mr. Tumlinson passed away Jan. 17, 2016 in Athens.

He was born Sept. 25, 1935 in Goldthwaite, Texas to the late Obie Ray and Vesta Zola Williams Tumlinson. Noel was raised in San Angelo and graduated from San Angelo High School where he met Vivian and married soon after graduation. He enrolled in the military for several years and in 1960 he moved to Del Rio and put in a go cart track that was extremely successful. Noel eventually returned to San Angelo for a year, he worked for a company building sailboats. This endeavor led him to move to Valdosta, Georgia with his family in where he became the Regional Sales Manager in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina for Thompson Boats.

Obituary: Chano Flores

Memorial services for Chano Flores, 63, Athens have been scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016 at Iglesia Bautista Emanuel Church with Pastor Jesus Rios officiating.

floresMr. Flores passed away Wednesday evening in Tyler.

He was born Sept. 22, 1952 in Brownsville, Texas to the late Jose Jesus and Eva Garza Flores. He had been a resident of Athens since 2002 and was a member of Iglesia Bautista Emanuel Church.

He was employed with Athens Independent School District from 2006-2008 as a substitute teacher. He loved to watch all kinds of sports, but especially loved watching the Dallas Cowboys. He was an avid bowler himself in his early years.

Obituary: Carl Andy Gragson, Sr.

Carl Andy Gragson, Sr., 77, was born May 4, 1938 in Dallas, Texas to George H. Gragson and Josie Ellen Price Gragson and passed away January 9, 2016 at his home in Payne Springs, Texas.

He owned and operated Andy’s House Moving and Leveling in Dallas for many years until health issues forced his retirement. He enjoyed taking part and being in the middle of what ever was going on around him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a son Darrell Gragson.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Charletta Gragson, children Carl Andy Gragson Jr., Connie Garvin and her husband Ronnie, Susan Benavidez and her husband Michael, Julie Williams and her husband Kenneth Martin, a brother Leroy Gragson and his wife Noreta, a sister Mary Lou Able, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren.

Visitation is Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Moorhead Epps Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Combine, Texas.
