The Celebration of the Life for Fred J. Scruggs of Eustace is scheduled for Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 12 p.m. at Tom Finley Park in Mabank.
Mr. Scruggs passed away on April 9, 2016 in Athens.
Fred was born in San Diego, CA on August 16, 1961 to Fredrick Joseph Scruggs and Shirly Irene Thomas Scruggs. He will be missed by everyone he knew and loved.
Madalyn Hammer, 93, of Athens, Texas, passed away on April 8, 2016. She declared that she had a long, good and interesting life but it was time to join her beloved husband, Jack, in the hereafter, which she proceeded to do.
Mary Madalyn Blankenship was born during the Great Depression on February 6, 1923 in Dallas, Texas, to Gladys Chumbley Blankenship, a homemaker, and Lester Benjamin Blankenship, a Dallas Fireman. On July 14, 1927, a little sister, Bettye Ruth Blankenship, was added to the family.
Funeral services for Michael Allen Cherry, of Athens, will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Dean officiating. Services are under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
Mr. Cherry went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 10, 2016.
Michael Cherry was born on March 25, 1955 in Athens to Frank Baker and YNell Whittington Baker. He loved reading and going to McDonalds. Michael loved cars, especially red pickup trucks. He was a wonderful son, brother and cousin, and will be missed by everyone he knew and loved.
Funeral services for Maria Socorro Santos are Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Edwards Catholic Church with Father Nolan Lowry officiating. Interment will follow at Athens City Cemetery under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
Ms. Santos went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 30, 2016.
Maria Santos was born on June 27, 1963 in Juan Aldama, Zacatecas, Mexico, the daughter of Adan Cerrillo and Guillermina Adame. She was a very hard worker and would help anyone she could in the community. Maria loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother who loved her family and will be missed by all she knew and loved.
A Celebration of the Life of Molly Francis Foster, of Athens, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Warren officiating. A Visitation with the family will follow the service.
Ms. Foster went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 29, 2016.
