Obituary: Eugene Hablinski

A Funeral Mass for Eugene Hablinski, 89, of Athens will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Malakoff with Father White officiating. Interment will follow at Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Hablinski passed April 22, 2018 in Athens, Texas.

Eugene Edmond Hablinski was born July 8, 1928 in Bremond, Texas to John J. Hablinski and Annie Dziedzic Hablinski. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and then married his wife Clara in 1951. Upon returning he began his career as a millwright in 1947 with Continental Can Company in Houston and then transferred to Kilgore in 1970 to retire after 36 years. He was a member of the Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church of Malakoff, a Member of the Knights of Columbus for over 57 years and a Past President of the Longview Chapter of the SPJST (Slovanic Benevolent Order of the State of Texas) Lodge # 178. He was known as a Jack of All Trades who never left anything unfixed and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Papaw was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Obituary: Francile Miller

The princess of the Miller family has gone to meet her savior. She passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. She was born On February 22, 1932 to C.A. Jones and Delia Edwards Jones. She was a sister to Darius Jones, George Jones & Wanda Ball. She was a mother to Jeff Miller, Janet Miller Morgan and Michael Miller. Wife and best friend to Roy D. Miller for over 65 years. Friends to many. She worked and retired from Republic National Life Insurance Company, Miller Grocery and Henderson County Board of Realtors. She will be greatly missed by all but especially many grand kids, nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Memorial services will be held Saturday April 21, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Barton’s Chapel Assembly of God Church in Murchison, Texas.

Obituary: Clara Antastasia Thomas

Clara Anastasia Thomas, age 91, was born on a dairy farm near Grenville, South Dakota on April 23, 1926. She was the second to the youngest of 6 children born to Anton and Anastasia Ewalt. She was the first of the children to be born in a house, her older siblings were born in a sod home on the prairie.
