Thursday night was McTeacher night in Athens for South Athens Elementary School.

Cross Roads FFA brings home awards
Congratulations, Cross Roads FFA!
“We are very proud of the Cross Roads FFA. We competed in the Trinity Neches Soil and Water Conservation District Plant ID contest at the TVCC ranch. We placed 3rd overall with a team consisting of Sara Spivey, Dixon Baird, Cody Weaver, and Danaleigh Stiles. We also had other FFA members to compete with high Scores; Trent and Tucker Watson, Karah Lawyer, Heath Ingram, Wesley Rogers, Bailee Stanfield, and Cameron Rogers. Thank you for representing CRFFA well!”

Malakoff ISD earns postsecondary readiness distinction
The honors just keep rolling in for Malakoff ISD.
This week, the Texas Education Agency announced that Malakoff ISD is among 24 school districts and charters that achieved a distinction designation for postsecondary readiness and a Met Standard rating for 2016.
Malakoff ISD was the only Henderson County school district to receive the distinction.
” Malakoff ISD is thrilled to be listed among only 24 districts in the state receiving the distinction for postsecondary readiness,” said Superintendent Randy Perry. “This distinction represents ongoing efforts to not only have MISD students progressing from grade to grade, but for our students to have options in life after graduation. Great things are happening at Malakoff ISD.”
