The Gun Barrel City Assembly 369 Masonic Youth Rainbow Girls participated in the installation of officers for the Corsicana Eastern Star Chapter 118 at the Corsicana Masonic Lodge on Saturday, June 6. In opening the ceremony, Kayla Rife carried the Bible to the altar escorted by Coy Spicer, a member of the Black Gold DeMolay Chapter in Corsicana, who was carrying the Square and Compasses. Michelle Sanderford, Worthy Advisor of the Gun Barrel City Rainbow Girls, was honored to perform the Gavel Ceremony in presenting the Worthy Matron with her gavel. Donna Dean, member of the Gun Barrel City Assembly’s Advisory Board and a Grand Deputy for the Grand Assembly of Texas, as well as a Past Matron of Denton Eastern Star Chapter 259, served as Installing Organist.

Joyce Hagens was installed as Worthy Matron. Mrs. Hagens is a majority Rainbow Girl and has centered her term this year on the Masonic Youth. “Faith, Hope, & Charity” (lessons of the Rainbow Girls) is her theme. ACPA’s Cassie Keys to Intern in Jerusalem Community of Worshipers

Athens Christian Preparatory Academy instructor Cassie Keys was recently selected for a unique internship in Jerusalem. Keys, who teaches English, Texas History, Cultural Geography, Music and Senior Leadership has been accepted into a three-month program at Succat Hallel (Hebrew for Tabernacle of Praise). Succat Hallel is a community of worshipers and intercessors from five continents brought together to receive training and understanding in a 24/7 house of prayer.

From June to August this summer Keys will be engaged in teachings covering biblical topics such as: the biblical place of Israel, the restoration of the tabernacle of David, the Isaiah 19 highway and the history of the Jewish people. Some of the teachings will include “mobile prayer watches” to places such as the City of David, Nazareth, Jericho, Shilo and Bethel. Black History Committee Gospel Showcase

Gospel 33. Members from the Church of Living God (Malakoff) and Darty’s Temple Church of God in Christ combined to sing praises unto the Lord at the Gospel Showcase as the ministers listened carefully. Also in support of the “Go Red For Women” campaign by the American Heart Association, they wore red.

I.M.A. Visits Inmates

On December 20 the Henderson County Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance made their year end visit to the Coffield Unit in Tennessee Colony, Texas.

During this Christmas season the Henderson County I. M. A. wanted to give empowerment and encouragement to the offenders.

Besides the ministers giving their spirit filled messages from the Lord, they provided cookies to the four thousand plus offenders.

Rev. Oscar Verdell, President of the organization said, “Although you are here and without your families, know that God loves you. You are a child of the Most High God and He will never leave you alone. No matter the situation, God is a good God and He will work out any problems that you have. All you need to do is just trust Him.”

“As we celebrate this joyous Christmas season, you must never feel that you have lost your praise. You must praise God at all times and in all situations. You must praise Him when you feel like it and when you don’t. If you feel like there is not way out, praise God and He will give you the way when you least aspect it,” said Eldress Mary Henderson.
