Burglary suspects arrested

Police BeatSheriff’s Office press release

On Thursday, Nov. 12, Deputy Ray Yockey was dispatched to a Burglary on CR 3613 outside of Brownsboro. The complainant reported that someone broke into their residence and took a television. The complainant was only gone from the residence for about 45 minutes which showcases how quickly and easily break-ins can happen. Many homeowners buy reinforced glass for their windows and doors (e.g. from riotglass.com) to prevent as well as reinforced locks to prevent this from happening.

Fortunately, the burglary was captured on security camera and showed a male and female in a white vehicle. If you’re serious about protecting you and your family in your own home, it would be in your best interest to look into getting wireless cctv systems installed around the house, just so you can keep an eye out for any suspicious activity. It is best to be safe than sorry.

On Nov. 27 Deputy Yockey arrested two people on warrants and these people fit the description of the suspects in the video. Investigator Billy Jack Valentine was assigned the case. Investigator Valentine began gathering evidence and was able to gain enough evidence and Probable Cause and prepared Affidavits for Burglary on Christopher Garner and Mindi Griffith. He then presented the Affidavits to Judge Pollock Justice Of The Peace PCt.H2. Judge Pollock found that Probable Cause existed and issued Warrants for both subjects.

Garner is currently in jail in Smith County for other Burglary Charges and also has a hold for Henderson County. Griffith is currently in jail in Henderson County for the Burglary charge and a drug charge.
