Brownsboro Pioneer Days Scheduled

Good food, grand music and a great time is set to be had at the Brownsboro Pioneer Days on Saturday, Nov. 15. The event is debuting this year and will take place on the Brownsboro High and Junior High School property. Brownsboro is the oldest city in Henderson County. The Brownsboro Economic Development Corporation wanted to host an annual event that would honor the city’s heritage.

“It is a way to get the community involved and come together, that’s what it is all about,” says Dusty Wise, member of the Economic Development Corporation.

A variety of activities are set to take place, running from 10a.m. to 4 p.m. A baby contest, with two different categories will be held. Winners will receive a trophy in each division. In addition a quilt show will be part of the festivities with a Best In Show being named. Arts & Crafts booths will provide jewelry, wreathes and other unique items to help you kick off your Holiday Shopping.

A salute to our veterans will be taking place. As part of our Pioneer days, each veteran who is pre-registered will get an award for his or her service.

“With Veterans Day being on the 11th, we wanted to include these heroes in our festivities and recognize them,” says Wise. A ceremony will be held to give them a well-deserved acknowledgement. To register visit our Facebook page at Brownsboro Pioneer Days, you have until October 31st.

For the kids, there will be face painting, barrel train rides, a petting zoo, hamster balls inflatables, a sky jump and much more. KornPop the clown and the Long Tall Texan will be on hand to take pictures and to entertain the crowd.

Food vendors will be providing a wide range of mouth-watering list of options. Mexican food, wraps, BBQ and burritos will be on the menu. Be sure to come hungry!

The entertainment lineup has something for everyone to enjoy. Country Music and 80’s icon, T. Graham Brown will be our headliner. The Georgia native will bring his string of top 10 hits with him. Brown is best known for his debut album and smash hit, “I Tell It Like It Used to Be”. He followed up with top 10 hits such as “Hell or High Water,” “I Wish I could Hurt That Way Again” and the fan favorite, “Darlene”. Brown paired with Tanya Tucker on the hit “Don’t Go Out”. But he may be best known for his inspiring ballad “Wine into Water”. The concert will begin at 7pm in the Brownsboro High school gym. Opening acts include, The Shrimpers, Casey Rivers, Jake Penrod, Lorie Lee, Cory Elrod and the Smith Family.
