Brownsboro ISD is inviting parents or community members to serve as a member of the School Health Advisory Committee for the 2014/2015 school year. Meeting dates will be October 28, 2014, December 11, 2014, February 11, 2015 and April 7, 2015.
The School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) for Brownsboro ISD functions in compliance with the Texas Education Code, Section 28.004. The purpose is to assist the district in ensuring that local community values are reflected in the district’s health education instruction. The specific duties of SHAC include reviewing and making recommendations related to the Wellness Policy including topics such as health education curriculum and hours of instruction, nutrition and fitness education and strategies for a coordinated school health and safety program.
