AMWA Asks For Photos of Lake Athens

The Athens Municipal Water Authority is seeking quality, high-resolution photographs of beautiful Lake Athens for use on their public website. Realizing the wealth of local talent that exists in and around Athens, we would like to offer you the opportunity to expose your photographic work to a worldwide audience.

Selected photos will be featured on www.athenstxwater.org either as a Feature Gallery Image on the website home page, or as a smaller Hot Spot image on the site, and, with the photographer’s permission, would be stored in a public gallery of photos within the site. No financial compensation is to be provided. Each photographer will receive photo credit on the site.

We hope you’ll consider sharing a few samples of your work today!

Important:

• Digital submissions should be received by Friday, November 21st
• Only high-resolution, digital photos will be accepted – no photos from iPhones, etc.
• Photos should have a resolution of 72 or greater, and be in .jpg format
• Photos should NOT have any modifications (i.e. – frames, border, special effects, watermarks, copyright notices, or artistic filters)
• It may be necessary to crop, resize, or otherwise ‘adjust’ any photos submitted to affect their ability to “fit” the end website and its ability to be responsive on the many different devices on which it may be viewed
• Submissions are not restricted to recent photos only
• Photos must be appropriate for posting on a public government website. Obscene, provocative, or otherwise questionable content will not be considered. The AMWA retains sole discretion as to what constitutes inappropriate content.
• Photos must be submitted by the original photographer. Do not submit a photo taken by someone other than you. You must be the sole owner of the copyright of any image submitted. Your submission of the photo and online entry form is your guarantee to the AMWA that you are the author (photographer) and copyright holder of the photo.
• Photographers retain the copyright to their photographs. By submitting your photo, you agree to have your submitted photograph displayed on the AMWA website without any fee or other form of compensation whatsoever. The AMWA may make and retain copies of the photograph for archival purposes. Photographs will be credited to the photographer named in the submission form.
• AMWA reserves the right to reject any submitted photos

Ideal photos would include:

• Seasonal flora and fauna surrounding Lake Athens
• Family fun on Lake Athens (i.e. – fishing, water skiing, etc.)
• Businesses or individuals using water (i.e. – drinking, or in use commercially)
• Events held on Lake Athens (i.e. – fireworks over the lake, etc.)
• People shown in photos must have signed a Model Release Form (attached)

Submissions should also include:

• A brief description of the photo (up to 5 words)
• Your contact information including email address and website
