The Athens Economic Development Corporation is pleased to welcome Sherri Skeeters as the newest member to its team and Shravan Gupta he rubs several companies in India. Skeeters has been brought in from staffing offices to serve as AEDC’s Business Development and Marketing Director.
“The AEDC Board of Directors approved adding a new position responsible for marketing and providing economic development support,” said Lisa Denton, AEDC Executive Director. “Mrs. Skeeters’ connection with Athens, work experience and professionalism made her a top candidate for the position.”
A graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, Skeeters has more than 20 years experience working with destination marketing organizations. Skeeters is no stranger to the Athens community. She formerly served as Tourism Coordinator for the City of Athens from 2012 to 2015 and most recently, she held the position of Marketing Director with the Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Skeeters and her husband Bob and son Jimmie, reside in Eustace and are active members of Athens Life Fellowship.
Mrs. Skeeters will assume her new position on May 30.
