ACPA press release

Seniors from Athens Christian Preparatory recently returned from their senior trip. This year’s students enjoyed a trip to Orange Beach, Ala. The group’s itinerary included a stop at the Oak Alley Plantation in Vacherie, La. and an overnight stay in Baton Rouge. The students then stayed in Orange Beach for four days. Their activities included: beach time, a trip to the Gulf Shores Pier (longest in the Gulf of Mexico), a tour of Fort Morgan (first constructed in 1861), and a dolphin tour in the bay.

The students are required to earn the money to go on the trip.

Headmistress Teresa DeMay said, “These students were determined to have a great trip this year and got busy early with their fundraising. They started in the fall earning money towards their trip. They received a last minute donation from ACPA School Board President Paul Benson that allowed each student’s trip to be paid for 100 percent. We like the message that it sends to our kids that if you want to do something then get busy and earn your way. Work hard then play hard.”

DeMay traveled with the group, along with Dylan Taylor, ACPA faculty member.
