Memorial services for Floyd Adams, 92, of Athens are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the First Christian Church of Athens with Rev. Kern Railsback officiating.
Mr. Adams passed away on December 6, 2014 in Athens, Texas.
Floyd Erwin Adams was born June 18, 1922 in Darby, Montana the son of John Jacob Adams and Clara Smith Adams. He joined the United States Air Force in 1942 and served during WWII, Vietnam and the Korean conflict before being honorably discharged in 1969. He was a cattle rancher and enjoyed working with wood and metal. Floyd was also a collector of clocks and crystal. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Athens, was the eldest member of the Church Leadership and was the President of the labor of Love. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all he knew and loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and a grandson.
He is survived by his loving wife LaVonne Grandstaff Adams of Athens; two sons, John Adams and wife Kathy of Newbury Park, California, Mark Adams and wife Kathleen of Grapevine; one daughter, Carol Kuraoka and husband David of Kauai, Hawaii; eight grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
