A graveside memorial service for Harold Wayne Parker Sr., 65 of Athens will be held at a later date at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens. Arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.

Mr. Parker passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013 in Athens, Texas.

Obituary: William Everett Gage

William Everett Gage, 56, of Kemp, was born on Jan. 9, 1957 in Dallas to the home of Lawson Everett Gage and Joyce Nell Hukill Gage. He passed away at his home on April 13, 2013.

He is preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Shirley Gage; children Joyce Marie Gage, Stacy Leann King and husband Joshua, Rebecca Gwen Newman and husband Jeremy; father Lawson “L.E.” Gage; brothers Michael Lynn Gage, Johnny Wayne Gage, Kenneth Lee Gage and wife Nicole; four grandchildren William, Matthew Quinsey and Rylan, and numerous other family and friends.

Obituary: Nancie Carroll

Graveside services for Nancie Carroll, 70, of Athens, formerly of Johstown, Pa., are scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Oaklawn Memorial Park, Athens, with Rev. Erick Graham officiating.

Mrs. Carroll was born Sept. 21, 1942 in Johnstown, Pa. to the late John William, Sr. and Catheryn Lovemma Eberson Zitsch.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, James A. Mitchell, Sr., Henry Jones, and Milton (Cookie) Carroll, Sr.; son, David William Mitchell; brother, John W. Zitsch, Jr.; sister, Lillian Cole.

Survivors include her sons, James A Mitchell, Jr. and wife, Sherry, Athens, Bradley Mitchell, Leesville; daughters, Debra Blackwell Mitchell and husband, Robin, Beaumont, Deionna Walter, Athens; daughter-in-law, Marie Mitchell, Houston; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Ranson Zitsch and wife Eve; sister, Jane Robbins and husband Tonis.

Family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 p.m. until service time.

Obituary: Jimmy Frank Krone

Jimmy Frank Krone, 78, was born on Nov. 24, 1934 in Dallas to the home of Finley Miller Krone and Maudie Morrison Krone. He passed away on April 9, 2013 in Athens.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Buck and R.D.; daughter Janet Lynn; and oldest grandson Jeremy.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jimmie Gale, Mickey Lee, Jackie Ann, Amanda Sue and Alex Frank; sisters Doris, Wanda and Nelda; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held noon Friday, April 12, 2013 at First Nazarene Church of Gun Barrel City with Rev. Ed Schauer officiating, and under the direction of Moorhead Epps Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Family Resource Center of Gun Barrel City.

Obituary: James S. ‘Buck’ Cure

Services for James S. “Buck” Cure, 87, Athens were held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in Davis Cemetery.

Mr. Cure died Monday, April 8, 2013 in Athens.

He was born May 12, 1925 in Athens to John and Mattie Cure and was a lifelong resident of the community. “Buck” worked 40 years in the oil field. He loved tending his cows, being outside working on his farm and enjoying nature.

He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law Nancy Cure.

Survivors include wife of 66 years Doris Cure, Athens; sons James Michael Cure, Norman, Okla., Karl Cure, Athens; sister Helen Ward, Dallas and grandson Justin Michael Cure, Dallas.
