Busy night: HCSO arrests burglary suspects, others on drug charges

Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse ordered his deputies on a city-wide burglary-ring crackdown Monday night arresting thee, and in other cases, busting seven people for illegal drug possession, guns and outstanding warrants.

“We were busy and we got these folks and their guns off the street,” Hillhouse said. “The first case was a great combined operation between our Office and Athens Police Department and the drug busts are part of my continued no-tolerance policy.

“Most importantly, a ring of burglars were put in jail and will face justice for their crimes,” he said.

Monday night, Major Bryan Tower and Deputy Kyle Pochobradsky arrested Christian Natiri, Jennifer Michel Pagoada and Dvahje Marquel Hayward at a traffic stop after 3 a.m. on SH 31 leaving Athens this morning.

Natiri had outstanding warrants out of Dallas County for burglary of a building and theft.

The Deputies found a .357 Ruger pistol stolen from Barbera Street, a billfold from Kyle Street, a leaf blower from Bunny Rabbit Street, and a laptop computer that had also been reported stolen.

Natiri went to jail on outstanding warrants, possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

Pagoada was arrested for possession of marijuana and Hayward for unlawfully carrying a weapon and theft of a firearm. The Athens Police Department added burglary of a motor vehicle to charges on all three.

Sheriff’s Office Investigators Brad Beddingfield and Josh Rickman arrested four men Monday night:

  • Timothy Whitley of Athens was stopped for a traffic violation on FM 2495. He was arrested for possession of marijuana, and four outstanding warrants from Henderson County, the Athens Police Department and the Eustace Police Department that included theft of property, disregarding a stop sign, violating promise to appear in court and failing to maintain automobile insurance.
  • Michael Lindley of Athens was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and two outstanding warrants for possession of drug paraphernalia and simple assault. He was arrested on Hyland Drive in Athens.
  • Kerry Clark of Athens was taken in for two outstanding warrants from Smith County for burglary of a vehicle. He was driving on SH 19 North of Athens.
  • Willard Sullivan was arrested on North Edmondson Street in Athens after he was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

In the early-morning hours, Investigators Kay Langford and Wick Gabbard arrested Brandon Wayne Rios at the intersection of Prairieville and Corsicana in streets in downtown Athens for three outstanding traffic warrants.

Also Monday, Deputy Wayne Nutt stopped a vehicle in the 100 Block of Legendary Lane and arrested Keith Erwin Vaughn Jr., of Tool for possession of a controlled substance believed to be methamphetamines.

Deputy Kenny Collard arrested Codey Len Williamson in the 300 Block of Paddock in Gun Barrel City for outstanding warrants including the manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a prohibited weapon. Deputy Collard also arrested Lesley Henderson on outstanding arrest warrants at this location.

Deputy Duane Sanders arrested Stephanie Bartlett for an outstanding warrant for Intoxicated Manslaughter out of Henderson County and Angelica Coffman for outstanding warrants for Burglary of a Habitation and Driving While Intoxicated out of Henderson County.

Deputy Meagan Hogan arrested Norbert Mosler for an outstanding warrant for Driving While License Invalid out of Henderson County.
