Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse praised Investigators Cayce Hampton and Jeromey Rose for arresting a woman Tuesday for felony possession of illegal drugs both in and out of the jail.
“This is a testament to the dedication of the fine deputies at the Office,” Hillhouse said of the two deputies. “Hampton and Rose worked with five other deputies on a drug house raid until the wee hours of the morning Sunday, giving up part of their Labor Day weekend, and turned around to put another one of these folks in jail.”
Colline Munoz, 33, was charged with a third-degree felony for possession of suspected methamphetamines in the County Jail. If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Earlier, Tuesday she was arrested after reports of a public disturbance on FM 1615 near the Henderson County line. At the time she was charged with felony possession of an illegal narcotic, a crime carrying a penalty of up to 2 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
“I can’t say enough about the team of men and women assembled at the Sheriff’s Office,” Hilhouse said. “They continue to work hard every day for the citizens of this County.”
“And the investigators and deputies took that promise to heart,” he said. “Since taking the oath of Office just over three short months ago, we have arrested dozens of drug dealers and users in Henderson County.”
Hillhouse said word is getting through to the criminals that they and their business is not welcome here.
“We’re just simply not going to tolerate it,” he said.
