The Texas Department of Transportation will be busy around Henderson County this week. Planned work includes:
— TxDOT Maintenance is conducting culvert work on SH 31 E. The eastbound, outside lane will be closed between Loop 7 and Murchison. Elsewhere, a second crew will return to SH 198 near the FM 316 intersection where overlay operations are being conducted. Expect lane closures with flaggers providing traffic control.
— TxDOT contractor, Striping Technology, Inc., will have a crew adding striping on FM 2709 in Henderson County as part of the district-wide safety project to add centerline rumble strips. Expect lane closures.
— Work continues on the SH 31 repair project, which includes milling the existing surface and placing a new overlay on the roadway. It should be completed in three months. Expect daytime lane closures. .09 miles west of FM 317 eastward to .34 miles west of FM 773.
— Clean up activities continue with seal coat operations set to start August 17 on the project to widen FM 317 from FM 314 to FM 607. Expect lane closures.
— Cardinal Drive in Murchison is closed to through traffic while a new bridge is constructed. The project is expected to be completed this month.
When are they going to be working on fixing FM 317 so we don’t have to drive all the way around?
