((Updated Aug. 13 with TEA Commissioner quote.))
The Texas Education Agency released the 2014 Accountability Ratings for school districts last week and I posted the summaries for area districts.
Eustace ISD Met Standard as a district and two of its three campuses earned academic distinction (the TEA paired the primary and intermediate campuses for the rating).
“Earning a distinction is not easy,” said TEA Commissioner Michael Williams. “Any school earning one or more distinctions should be recognized in its community for the outstanding work taking place on that campus.”
“We are pleased that all of our campuses and our district as a whole met all of the standards under the new accountability system,” said Superintendent Dr. Coy Holcombe.
Ratings for each campus of the district include:
- High School: Met Standard with four academic distinctions (Reading, Mathematics, Social Studies, Closing Performance Gaps).
- Middle School: Met Standard with no distinctions.
- Primary/Intermediate: Met Standard with three academic distinctions (Reading/ELA, Closing Performance Gaps, Postsecondary Readiness).
“We are especially pleased with the academic distinctions earned at the High School and Intermediate,” Holcombe said. “These accomplishments, along with all of the other successes that we enjoyed throughout the 2013-2014 school year, would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our students, staff, school board, parents, and the overall support of our community. We are looking forward to the 2014-2015 school year.”
