Trinity Valley Community College’s Beef Cattle Show Team won the 2016 Good Herdsman Award in the Open Charolais Division at the 2016 Houston Livestock Show, held Mar. 1 at NRG Park in Houston. The group also took home 1st place in the Senior Bull Calves class with TVCC Unlimited Reward 1431 P, shown by Taylor Davis of Brownsboro.
“I’m very proud of our students, sponsor Marc Robinson said. “In addition to working very hard for months in preparation to show the college cattle, the members have also won the Good Herdsman Award at Houston 14 out of the last 16 years.”
Other awards in the Open Charolais Division included TVCC MS Lindsey 1453 P, 2nd place in Winter Heifer Calves, shown by Jacklyn Hart of Athens; TVCC MS Legend 1410, 2nd place in Junior Yearling Females, shown by Tanner Essary of Brownsboro; TVCC Vaillant’s Fire 1436, 3rd place in Senior Bull Calves, shown by Kelby Lawson of Brownsboro; TVCC MS Supreme Reward 1428 P, 3rd place in Senior Heifer Calves, shown by Lindsey Bever of Cross Roads; TVCC MS Jacqueline 1503 P, 4th place in Junior Heifer Calves, shown by Cally Cox of Baird and TVCC MS Ashley 1507, 5th place in Junior Heifer Calves, shown by Chad Tindel of Eustace.
