Trinity Valley Community College Vice President of Institutional Advancement/Executive Director of the TVCC Foundation Kristen Bennett has been selected by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) to serve on the Federal Funding Task Force (FFTF) for 2016.
The FFTF is the premier team of college representatives from across the country who convene in Washington, DC, each year to visit federal agency program officers. The goal is to discuss anticipated funding levels and program priorities, update agency contacts and request comparison data on funds applied for and grants awarded to community colleges in previous funding cycles.
During these visits, task force members also advocate on behalf of two-year colleges, explaining the valuable role they play in their communities and the positive impact that federal grants and programs have on students.
The Federal Funding Task Force was created by the Council for Resource Development, which successfully managed the program until July 2016, when it became an initiative of the CASE Center for Community College Advancement.
Bennett will be attending the 2016 legislative session October 23rd through October 27th in Washington, D.C.
“This is an exciting opportunity for TVCC to be represented on the FFTF, which will put us at the forefront of federal funding and agency connections in Washington, DC,” said Bennett.
