The Lady Cards advanced to the Region XIV Tournament semifinals Wednesday night with a 64-49 win against Tyler.
The No. 2-seeded Lady Cards (27-4) are scheduled to face No. 3-seeded Kilgore (20-10) at 3 p.m. Friday. The winner advances to the title game at 4 p.m. Saturday against the Panola-San Jacinto winner.
Mercedes Brooks poured in 25 points to lead the Lady Cards. She also had nine rebounds.
Arleighshya McElroy had a double-double for the Lady Cards with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Michal Miller finished with 10 points and Rodrea Echols had nine.
The Lady Cards were up 18-10 after one quarter and led 34-23 at halftime.
In Wednesday’s other games, it was: Panola 66, Bossier Parish 58; San Jacinto 56, Angelina 50; Kilgore 71, Blinn 63.
The Lady Cards defeated Kilgore in both Region XIV Conference meetings this season, 65-54 and 70-57.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
The No. 1-seeded Cardinals are scheduled to begin play in the Region XIV Tournament today in quarterfinal action against No. 9-seeded Kilgore at 1 p.m.
The Cardinals (27-3) received a first-round bye. Kilgore (17-12) was a 62-58 winner against Bossier Parish in the opening round of the tournament Tuesday.
During Region XIV Conference play, the Cardinals swept Kilgore, 78-67 and 76-69.
The TVCC-Kilgore winner advances to the semifinals at 6 p.m. Friday to face the Blinn-Angelina winner.

SOFTBALL
The Lady Cardinals (11-11) are scheduled to open Region XIV Conference today with a doubleheader at Paris. Action begins at 1 p.m.
The Lady Cardinals carry a three-game winning streak into today’s action.
Paris is 3-13 on the year.
The Lady Cardinals are scheduled to be at home twice next week, taking on Western Nebraska at 1/3 p.m. Tuesday and Bossier Parish at 1/3 p.m. Wednesday.
