More than 1,000 high school seniors got a head start on their futures while visiting Trinity Valley Community College’s annual College Prep Day on Thursday. The students were welcomed by Director of School Relations Audrey Hawkins, Vice-President of Student Services Dr. Jay Kinzer and Mahad Asim, President of the Student Senate. Entertainment was provided by the TVCC Wild Cards Swing Orchestra, TVCC Cheelerleaders and Cardettes.
Nineteen high schools from the TVCC service area participated and met with a host of representatives from colleges, universities and military recruiters. Students were also offered two breakout sessions focusing on financial aid and the future.
The motivational session was delivered by Austin-based actor and comedian Aaron Spivey-Sorrells, best known for his role as Coach Spivey on the television series “Friday Night Lights.”
