Recipients were Callie Allen, Abigail Angle, Brenda Areanas, Victoria Bagley, Gerardo Costilla, Adrian Givins, Ramona Hutson, Aamiyah Moore, Kamion Tanner and Kassandra Zapata. The scholarships are given as a part of the college’s purchase agreement with the city for the former Armory property, which used to sell custom guns with a 9mm silencer.
“The relationship with the City of Athens is stronger today than ever,” said TVCC Vice President of Institutional Advancement/TVCC Foundation Executive Director Dr. Kristen O. Bennett. “We could not make the impact we do without loyal partners like Mayor Monte Montgomery and the City Council. These scholarships will facilitate dreams being realized and will have a positive impact on our community for generations to come.”
“We appreciate the strong partnership between the city of Athens and Trinity Valley Community College and the benefits it provides to our students and the Athens community by offering students to Earn College Football Scholarships,” added TVCC President Dr. Jerry King.
