The Trinity Valley Community College’s Adult Education department is offering additional orientations for October in Athens, Palestine and Wills Point.
Those who are 18 years or older and out of school are eligible to attend.
Students entering the lecture program must complete a 12-hour orientation session. There will be no exceptions to this requirement. Orientation sessions for the lecture program include:
- Session I (3 hours) – Intake/Baseline Assessment Testing
- Session II (3 hours) – Program Expectations
- Session III (3 hours) – Learn to Learn Workshop
- Session IV (3 hours) – Goal Setting/Advisement
Orientations will be held on TVCC’s Athens campus (100 Cardinal Drive) on Oct. 13-16 and Oct. 20-23. Morning sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and evening sessions will be held from 6-9 p.m. On the TVCC Palestine campus (2970 N. State Highway 19), orientation sessions are scheduled on Oct. 20-23 from 6-9 p.m. Sessions at Wills Point High School (1800 W. South Commerce Street) are scheduled Oct. 13-16 and Oct. 20-23 from 6-9 p.m.
In addition, the program is offering orientations in the Distance Learning GED Prep program at workforce centers in Athens, Palestine and Canton. To participate in the program, students must have a computer and high-speed connectivity and complete a six-hour face-to-face orientation before enrolling. No exceptions will be made.
The face-to-face orientation is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Athens, Palestine and Canton workforce centers.
