Trinity Valley Community College President Dr. Jerry King announced Tuesday that TVCC has received notice that accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) has been reaffirmed.
“The SACSCOC accreditation validates TVCC as an institution committed to quality enhancement, continuous improvement, and supports and enhances student learning,” said King. “Accreditation also validates that TVCC has a mission that is appropriate to higher education, has the resources, programs, and services sufficient to accomplish and sustain its mission, and maintains clearly specified educational objectives that are consistent with its mission and appropriate to the degrees it offers, and that indicate whether it is successful in achieving its stated objectives. When an institution has earned accreditation, it signifies that it has ‘a purpose appropriate to higher education and has resources, programs, and services sufficient to accomplish and sustain that purpose.’”
The accreditation also validates that TVCC is eligible for Title IV funds (student financial aid) and other federal aid and scholarships, provides transferability of credit to other institutions, and reassures the quality of education to our prospective and current students and public.
“We are deeply grateful for our faculty and staff and proud of what they’ve accomplished through this accreditation process, said King. “We believe this SACSCOC reaffirmation approval reassures parents, prospective and current students, employers and the public that TVCC provides a high quality education.”
