Henderson County Sheriff’s Office press release
On March 15, at approximately 5:45 a.m., Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Sergeant Matthew Jistel and Deputy Keon Mack performed a traffic stop on State Highway 19 North in Athens. During the traffic stop, Sergeant Jistel located a small baggie containing a crystal like substance believed to be methamphetamines and a package containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana.
Jessica Calloway a white female from the Athens area was arrested and booked into the Henderson County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 more than 1 gram but less than 4 grams. Possession of Marijuana less than 2 ounces and two outstanding warrants out of the Gun Barrel City Police Department.
Phillip Maddox a white male from the Malakoff area was also arrested and booked in for one outstanding warrant out of the Malakoff Police Department.
Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 1g-4g is a third degree felony and punishable from 2 to 10 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine. Possession of Marijuana -20z is a class B misdemeanor and punishable up to 180 days in jail and up to a $2,000 fine.
Both subjects remain in jail at this time.
