On March 30, Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Brad Beddingfield initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Curtis Dowdle for a traffic violation. During the stop, Beddingfield identified a passenger in the vehicle as Dwight Stevens.
Henderson County Communications advised that Curtis Dowdle currently had a suspended Texas Driver’s License – had previously been convicted for Driving While License Invalid.
During the investigation of the stop Deputy Beddingfield discovered that Dwight Stevens was in possession of firearms. Communications advised that Stevens had previously been convicted of a felony and was currently on parole. Due to the previous felony conviction Stevens is not allow to possessa earn according to Texas law.
Curtis Dowdle as arrested for Driving While License Suspended with a Previous Conviction. If convicted of the Class B Misdemeanor, Dowdle could face up to six months in the Henderson County Jail and up to a $2,000 fine.
Dwight Stevens was arrested for unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. If convicted of the Third Degree Felony, Stevens could face up to 10 Years in the Texas Department of Justice Penitentiary and up to a $10,000 fine.
Both Dowdle and Stevens were transported to the Henderson County Jail. They are both awaiting arraignment.
