A special thanks and pat on the back to our Athens Kiwanis Club. The pancake breakfast is something I look forward to every year. As I was looking around the Cain Center room Tuesday morning, a few things occurred to me that I thought were worth sharing.
1. The energy and fellowship of the Kiwanis members is contagious. I love seeing the smiling faces of everyone working the pancake cooking stations. Can you imagine if you owned a business where everyone working for you showed this type of enthusiasm? Wow. Then I realized several businesses in town already do – McDonalds, Whataburger and Brookshire’s come to mind (I’m including the Weinstein Team here).
2. When you look at the walls and see the banners you begin to realize how well supported this event is within our community. I asked the question at our table, why it is that so many businesses support this Kiwanis event? Why do you think? There are a lot of supporters. All you have to do is watch the streaming ads on the jumbo screen to see how many businesses want their brand associated with Pancake Day.
3. Great job Athens High School Key Club for helping serve people as well as helping to clean up. Nicely done.
4. Please don’t tell my doctor that I used butter and non-sugar free syrup.
5. Does it seem like Pancake Day is beginning to come around sooner every year?
Hope you enjoy your pancakes whether you have them for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Great local guys & organization! Support of their undertakeings very well deserved!
