Hearing Set on Petition for Fresh Water Supply District in Henderson County

Henderson County Commissioners’ Court has set a public hearing for 9:45 a.m. July 15 on a petition to create a Fresh Water Supply District in Pct. 4 off FM 1615.

Commissioners took the action during their regular meeting Tuesday morning. According to state law, the court was required to set the public hearing.

A Fresh Water Supply District is a political subdivision of the state — a government entity — meaning it has the power to levy and collect a tax, hold bond elections, build infrastructure and is run by an elected board.

The proposed water district would be the Wilson Ranch Fresh Water Supply District No. 1. The proposed district is about 1,090 acres completely inside Henderson County, with no part in the City of Athens extraterritorial jurisdiction, according to the petition. Three Sessions Set for Cardinal Pride Freshman Orientation at TVCC

Starting college can be stressful – so let Trinity Valley Community College give you a head start on the road to success.

Registration is open now for Cardinal Pride Freshman Orientation, which will be offered on three dates: Saturday, July 12 (must be registered by July 9); Saturday, July 26 (register by July 23); and Saturday, August 9 (register by August 6).

Freshman orientation offers information to make the transition from high school to college a little easier. Students will be able to register for fall semester classes and learn important facts about the college, as well as the many activities and services TVCC offers. If participants have pre-registered for fall classes, they will have the opportunity to meet with a college success coach as well as with other incoming freshman.

Families are encouraged to attend orientation. Sessions will focus on money management, Cardinal Connection, campus security and tips for helping students be successful. Participants will also have an opportunity to meet with local dignitaries from Athens, ask questions, learn more about the local area and take a tour of the campus. WHO: Amy Lunceford, Amylu Photography

WHAT: I am a creative soul with 15-plus years in advertising and client relations at all levels and capacities. My passion is people and working to make goals a reality for others and myself. I have taken my years of experience in marketing and design along with my passion for photography to build my own business, Amylu Photography (newborns, families, seniors, boudoir, weddings and events). Alongside a portrait photography business, I am also building a successful commercial photography portfolio ( which includes such things as product photography, real estate photography, nature photography, business photography for web and print use). This means that I can cover nearly all sides of the photography spectrum, allowing my work to be versatile and strong. Through my experience, I have learned many real estate photography tips, as well as tips and tricks for other kinds of photography. Be it the more artistic options, or the more technical, I am always excited to approach a new project with an open mind. When the opportunity presents I often work with local businesses/groups to provide marketing and design services. I am also the proud wife of the owner of Old Town Trading in Malakoff.

WHERE: Amylu is in Athens with a studio upstairs at The Vault Boutique on the square in Athens. Most of my work is done offsite at beautiful locations around the county.
