The Trinity Valley Community College Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host a Stakeholders Appreciation Breakfast Tuesday, January 16 at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center. The invitation-only event will feature a panel discussion on economic development issues hosted by TVCC President Dr. Jerry King, Tyler Economic Development Director Tom Mullins and North Texas SBDC Network Executive Director Mark Langford.
“Economic development directors, chamber of commerce board members, political leaders and college executives are expected to attend,” said TVCC SBDC Executive Director Mike Ellsberry, “and appreciation certificates will be awarded to organizations and individuals who have provided exceptional support to the SBDC.”
The Trinity Valley Community College Small Business Development Center (TVCC SBDC) offers confidential, one-on-one no-cost business consulting for startups and existing businesses in Anderson, Henderson, Kaufman, Rains and Van Zandt counties. The TVCC SBDC provides business counseling related to business formations, financing, growth, personnel and organizational issues, marketing and other topics which are important to the success of a business. For the fiscal year end September 30, 2017, TVCC SBDC advised 143 existing and prospective businesses, assisting with $3,331,000 in financing and leading to 68 new jobs and 13 business starts in their five-county service area.
The TVCC SBDC office is located at the Athens Partnership Building at 201 West Corsicana Street, Suite 6 in Athens. Satellite offices with weekly hours are located in Kaufman, Forney, Palestine and Gun Barrel City. The TVCC SBDC is funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the state of Texas and TVCC.
