Rep. Stuart Spitzer press release
Promising an aggressive campaign to take his “consistent conservative” agenda to the Texas Legislature, Rep. Stuart Spitzer M.D. (R-Kaufman) has filed for re-election to his second term.
“Great strides were made last session during the most conservative legislative gathering in Texas history,” Spitzer said. “We dramatically cut taxes, we protected pastors who refuse to participate in non-traditional marriages, we allowed Texans to openly carry handguns and kept government expansion out of our lives.”
He said he will return to Austin to work for additional tax cuts, pass real transparency legislation, expand pastoral protection laws to cover businesses and private-sector organizations, work for additional tax relief and protect our citizens from massive illegal immigration.
“There is much to be done, and it all starts with having the courage to stand up to the Austin insiders and say “No” to their plans to pass new, unneeded laws just so they have something to tell their voters back home they did,” he said.
“Too many wanna-be lawmakers think the Legislature is their private, exclusive club where they can go play and have their fun,” Spitzer said. “I know better. The Legislature is where the people’s work should be done and where legislators should go for a brief time and then return to their families and friends to live under the laws they have passed.”
Spitzer promised above all else, he will stay true to his word.
“People in Kaufman and Henderson counties deserve a Representative whose words and actions are consistent, not a voice that says one thing at home and does something different in Austin,” he said.
