Public Meeting in Cross Roads on Oncor Transmission Lines

There will be a public meet this Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Cross Roads ISD concerning the proposed power lines for the new Bethel energy center.

The following description is from the Public Notice for the meeting:

“Oncor Electric Delivery LLC (Oncor) will be holding additional public meetings regarding the proposed 345 kilovolt (kV) transmission line project (Cross Roads ISD, Feb. 20, 4-8 p.m.). The project is designed to interconnect the proposed New Bethel Switching Station located southeast of the FM 2706 and CR 2504 intersection in Anderson County to an existing 345 kV transmission line. Public meetings were previously held for this project on November 19, 2013 and November 21, 2013.”

“Oncor is committed to routing the proposed transmission line in a manner consistent with the values of the local communities, the Texas Utilities Code, and the Public Utility Commission of Texas rules and policies. Therefore, in response to comments from the November meetings, Oncor is considering additional alternatives that may connect the proposed New Bethel Switching Station to one of four existing transmission lines in the region (see map). Oncor is holding two additional Public Participation Meetings to solicit input for use in determining line routing alternatives for the proposed transmission line. Halff Associates, a consulting firm
retained by Oncor for the project, has identified preliminary alternative transmission line route links for consideration, which are shown as dashed lines on the provided map. Maps with greater detail will be exhibited at the meetings. Individuals attending these “come and go” open house meetings will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide comment to
representatives and technical experts from Oncor and Halff Associates regarding the routing of the proposed transmission line. These preliminary alternative route links are subject to modification based on information received at these Public Participation Meetings and further studies. If you have any questions concerning these meetings, please contact Mr. Jeremy McConnell at 214-486-7336 or email [email protected].
