Thursday, May 19, at noon the Henderson County Peace Officers Association will honor Henderson County Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty with a memorial service.
The memorial service will be held on the National Peace Officers Memorial Day which was signed into law in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy. President Kennedy also proclaimed the calendar week of May 15 as Police Week. The National Peace Officers Memorial Day honors federal, state, and local Officers killed or disabled in the line of duty. The Henderson County Peace Officers Association would like to welcome members of the community to take part in the memorial service.
