TxDOT update for the week of Sept. 14

txdot– TxDOT Maintenance is conducting mill and inlay work on Business 31 inside Loop 7 on Athen’s west side. Work will then move to the east side of the Athens between FM 2495 and Loop 7. Expect lane closures with flaggers providing traffic control.

– Work to place a new overlay on this part of SH 31 ( .09 miles west of FM 317 eastward to .34 miles west of FM 773) should be finished in late October. Expect lane closures. Continue reading “TxDOT update for the week of Sept. 14”

Obituary: Larry James Millender

millender, larryServices for Larry James Millender, 76 of Murchison are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2015 at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel with Rev. Matt Sims officiating. Burial will follow in Shelby Chapel Cemetery.

Larry passed away Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015 in Athens.

He was born Feb. 17, 1939 in Belton to Joe Rodger and Flora Jane Clements Millender. Larry enjoyed shooting guns. His favorite were black powder guns.
