Sam Spady had a wonderful life. She had loving parents and adoring friends. She was a homecoming queen and class president. She had looks, brains, youth and promise.

She had everything to live for, but all that came to a sudden and horrific end in the summer of 2004 when Sam shared too many shots of vanilla flavored vodka, passed out and died alone inside a cluttered fraternity house. Her death was an unintended tragedy.

Log Cabin woman arrested for drugs

On Oct. 15, Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Investigators Kendell Wellman and Kay Langford received information that Christina Reynolds was distributing methamphetamines at her residence on County Road 1411 in the Log Cabin area. Wellman obtained a narcotics search warrant which was signed by 173rd District Judge Dan Moore.

Kendall Sanders found not guilty

Former Athens Hornets star and University of Texas wide receiver Kendall Sanders was found not guilty if sexual assault Friday morning.

Austin American-Statesman reporter Ryan Autullo covered the trial and wrote:

Sanders is cleared of all wrongdoing from a June, 2014 incident in a campus dormitory involving a female student at UT. Sanders, a wide receiver for the Longhorns, would’ve been a senior on this year’s team. He has one season of eligibility remaining should he choose to continue his football career.

Today’s verdict is also good news for Montrel Meander, who was also indicted for the same incident.
