Malakoff Theatre Troupe to stage ‘Little Shop of Horrors’

The Malakoff Tiger Troupe will present “Little Shop of Horrors” for six shows. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.

“Little Shop of Horrors” is part horror, more comedy rock musical by composer Alan Menken and writer Howard Ashman. The story follows a florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood.

Dates include: 6 p.m. Oct. 29 and Nov. 5; 7 p.m. Oct. 31 and Nov. 8; and 2 p.m. Nov. 1 and Nov. 8.

Walker honored for being Commended Student

Madelaine WalkerOn Monday night, the Malakoff ISD School Board honored Madelaine Walker for being named a commended student by the National Merit Scholarship Program for her score on the PSAT test. Madelaine scored in the top 5 percent of all test taking students in the United States. Madelaine is the daughter of Bob and Elaine Walker of Malakoff. Madelaine is the top Senior for the Class of 2016. She plans on attending Baylor University next Fall.
