Mark Tillison, of Murchison, has announced he is running for the office of County Commissioner representing Precinct 3 of Henderson County. He will be running on the Republican Ticket in the 2016 election.

Tillison is a lifelong member of Henderson County; choosing to live, work and raise his family here. He has been married to his wife, Becky Speer Tillison for 14 years, and they have two children, Ty, 11, and Taylor, 7, who both attend school in Brownsboro.
“Henderson County has afforded me so many opportunities, both professionally and as a safe place to raise my family. I want to keep it that way, and I want to give back to the community that has given me so much. I can do that by implementing a conservative approach to the use of tax dollars, while building upon and maintaining the current infrastructure of our roads, bridges, and other county recreational and educational facilities.”

Two arrested following traffic stop

Police BeatOn Thursday, Oct. 29 at approximately 2 a.m. Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Brian Huckabee along with Deputy Jacob Sumrall conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Hwy 334 located in Gun Barrel City. The operator of the vehicle who was identified as Antonio Hernandez was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and quantity of suspected methamphetamine. Hernandez’s passenger identified as Robert Russell had two outstanding warrants for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the Henderson County Jail and booked in.
