Obituary: Joe Dan Parolini

Funeral Services for Joe Dan Parolini of Athens are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens with Bro. Frank Upchurch officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens.

Joe Dan Parolini passed away on October 17, 2018 in Athens, Texas.

Joe Dan Parolini was born July 14, 1951 in Athens, Texas the son of Arthur Horton Parolini and Billie Jean Loden Parolini. He retired from Dynamic Rubber as a plant manager after working for over 30 years. “Unkie” enjoyed mechanic work and would always fix anything broken. He also enjoyed gardening and loved animals, especially the birds in his yard. He loved looking at old cars on the internet, wood working and anything that had to do with his family. “Papa Joe” was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather who will be missed by all those who knew him.

Jamey Foster retires

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office would like to take this opportunity to wish Jamey Foster the best in her new adventure. She is retiring from the Sheriff’s Office after 27 years of service to Henderson County. She has been a tremendous asset to Henderson County and will be missed. She is starting a new adventure with the TVCC Police Department. Jamey has instructed many academy cadets with the East Texas Police Academy and helped them get the training they needed to complete the academy and become certified Peace Officers. Obituary: JC Rogers

JC Rogers, 93 went to be with his heavenly father in paradise on October 17, 2018. JC was born on December 8, 1924 in Malakoff Texas to Jack and Grace Barr Rogers. The eldest of six children. JC joined the US Navy at the age of eighteen and served as a medical corpsman during several wars including WWII. He served for 21 years. It was at the age of eighteen that JC surrendered his life to Jesus and was true to his faith even unto the end.

Sheriff’s Office makes multiple arrests for meth

ATHENS — An Athens man and woman were caught in an early-morning drug raid, and another duo was arrested yesterday afternoon in Mabank – all for possession of methamphetamines – by Henderson County Botie Hillhouse’s Narcotics Investigators.

Gregory Wayne Cantrell, 41, and Ashley Dawn Mauldin, 33, both of Athens were captured at a residence in the 200 block of North Lane Avenue at about 3:40 a.m.
