Graveside services for Valloice Holley Livingston, 85 of Athens are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016 at Athens Cemetery with Dr. Joe Warren officiating.
Mrs. Livingston passed away Jan. 9, 2016 in Athens.
She was born in Gainesville, Texas on Jan. 14, 1930 to Willis Ray and Theresia Metzler Holley. Valloice attended schools in Gainesville, Texas where she met and married Dan M. Livingston on Nov. 25, 1948 and moved to Athens. They left Athens in 1952 and later returned with their three children in 1966. Valloice was an aide for Athens ISD for many years before she and her daughter-in-law, Janna Livingston opened Shoes Etc. in 1984. For 25 years Valloice was affectionately known as the “Shoe Lady.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, her husband of 66 years and a son, Robert Livingston.
She is survived by sister Ima Jean Holley Smith and husband, Eddie of Gainesville, brother, Robert Dwight Holley and wife, Helen of Gainesville, daughter, Cyndi Livingston Brookshire, Houston, son, Judge D. Matt Livingston and wife, Janna of Athens, grandchildren, Kyle Brookshire and wife Kirstin, Dallas, Kelly Brookshire Pyle, Houston, Jennifer Livingston, Frisco, Lance Livingston and wife, Caitlin, Plano, and great grandchildren, Robert Pyle and Lexie Pyle.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Arabella Assisted Living and Ms. Patty B. of Genesis Hospice for the special care given to Dan and Valloice.
