Graveside services and interment for Sue Adams, 87, Athens, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at Athens Cemetery with Rev. Mary Henderson officiating. Services are under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.
Mrs. Adams died Tuesday evening in Athens.
She was born Jan. 24, 1926 in Dallas to the late John T. and Mattie Guynes Laman.
Sue was a resident of Athens most of her life. She was a very dedicated wife and mother to her family and very active in all facets of the lives of her children, including Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was an avid bridge player. Sue loved gardening.
Preceeding her in death is her husband Mack Adams, May 29, 2002; and her son, Jerry Mack Adams, May 25, 2007.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Donny Campbell, Athens; brother and sister-in-law, Gene Terry and Jean Laman, San Marcus; grandchildren, Traci Sue Campbell, Dallas, Lisa Adams Guse, Athens, Molly Chance, Sanger; other family members, Ronna Adams, Athens, Judy Adams, Athens; nieces, Julie Fields, Austin, Amy Adams, Dallas, Jill Adams, Austin.
Honorary pallbearers Gene Laman, Judge Glen Ashworth, Billy Norwood, Lester Kinabrew, Wes Boone Fields, Joseph Guse, Bret Chance and nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from noon to 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
