Funeral services for Nell Trent, 88 of Athens, will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Athens, Texas with Bro. Mike Dean officiating. Interment will follow at Larue Cemetery in Larue, Texas.
Ms. Trent went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 21, 2014 in Athens, Texas.
Lera Nell Troublefield Trent was born August 5, 1925 in LaRue, Texas to Dick and Euna Henderson Troublefield. She graduated from Athens High School and was the church treasurer at West Athens Baptist Church for many years. She was a dedicated member of fellowship Baptist Church. Nell was a bookkeeper and had worked for E.B. Gauntt Wholesale Grocery, Phantom Boat and the Athens Review where she was office manager. She was also a member of the B & PW Club.
Nell was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters; Ella Lee Ballard, Willie Mae Wilson, Anna Wilson and Faye Warren.
She is survived by one daughter Ranell McClellan and husband Gregg; three sons, Michael Trent and wife Jeanie, John Trent and wife Sue Lynn, Richard Trent and wife Julie; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Trent, Daniel Trent, Adam Trent, Cameron Taylor, Aaron Alfred and Trent Alfred. Honorary pallbearers will be Kelly Ireland, Dan Love, Keith Nusko, Mike Rawson, Rusty Ryon and Randy Whatley.
A viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on June 23, 2014 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens, Texas.
