Obituary: Larry W. Moran

LarryLarry W. Moran died Oct. 31, 2014.

Larry was born on February 12, 1936 in Kemp, Texas to parents Cecil and Helen (Rachel) Moran and entered into eternal rest on October 31, 2014 at the age of 78. Larry loved wood working, he was a master craftsman. He enjoyed talking, especially about history. Larry was in the United States Navy and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was on the board at East Texas Medical Center in Athens and served as a volunteer for the Tool Fire Department. Larry was a member of First Assembly of Sanford, Florida. He was a very loving and caring man who will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; James, Billy and Carol.

He is survived by his wife Oma Lou Moran of Seven Points, daughter Laura Jenkins of Olive Branch, MS, step-sons; Philip Ivy of Waco and Michael Ivy of Hickory Creek, step-daughter Michele Bryce of Rowlett, grandchildren; Kristie Poole, Morgan Haley and Nathan Haley, step-granddaughter Christi Schluter, great-granddaughter Alyssa Rines, Reese McDaniel, Sydney Lee and Ainslie Haley, step-great-grandchildren Demi Bayless, Alyssa Bayless, Ethan Schluter and Zachary Schluter, sisters Margaret Drummond of Cross Roads and Bonnie Bennett of Cross Roads, brother Charles Moran of Pampa, numerous nieces and nephews, other loving relatives and many more friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014 at Eubank Cedar Creek Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Laurel Land Memorial Park, Dallas.
