Obituary: June Rounsavall

Funeral services for June Rounsavall, 82, of LaRue are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens with Bro. Robbie Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens.

Ms. Rounsavall passed away September 19, 2017 in Malakoff, Texas.

Evelyn June Rounsavall was born June 30, 1935 in Brownsboro, Texas the daughter of William Franklin Fipps and Millie Hutchins Fipps. June married the late William Arthur Rounsavall on June 28, 1952 and was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Corsicana. She was a homemaker who loved gardening, canning and fishing; but her true love was her grandchildren. Nanny’s most precious moments were spent with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who will be missed by the many lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years Bill Rounsavall; her parents; one son Dickie Rounsavall and one granddaughter Kalynn Rounsavall.

June is survived by her four children, William David Rounsavall of Corsicana, Arthur Dennis Rounsavall and wife Debra of New Harmony, Dana Lynn Rounsavall and wife Cindy of Purdon, Danny Franklin Rounsavall of LaRue; one sister Pete Langston of Lorena; one brother Junior Fipps of McCloud, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Gretchen Hollimon and husband Eric, Michael Rounsavall and wife Kari, Jennifer Palacios and husband Jose, Cody Rounsavall and wife Kevyn, D.J. Rounsavall and wife Amanda, Misty Ewing and husband James, Jeremy Rounsavall, Danny Kyle Rounsavall and wife Hollie and eighteen great grandchildren.

Serving as Pallbearers will be, Cody Rounsavall, Jose Palacios, D.J. Rounsavall, Michael Rounsavall, Jeremy Rounsavall and James Ewing. Honorary Pallbearers will be Danny Kyle Rounsavall and Eric Hollimon.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.
