Joyce Magness-Worley left this world to be with her maker on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2 013 after battling a lengthy illness.
She was born July 16, 1946 to the late Raymond and Margie Green Magness. She grew up in Athens with her sisters and brother and was a proud lifelong resident.
Joyce married the love of her life, Winston Worley, on June 8, 1968 and had two children, Jason and Jennifer. Being the best wife and mother she could be was the most important thing to her.
She loved her Bunco Ladies very much and was always excited to get together with her “Girls.” She was very passionate about helping others and her generosity and compassion knew no bounds.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother Wayne Magness.
Survivors includes by her two children, Jason and Jennifer, both of Athens; sisters, Rheba Sparling and husband John, Palestine, Wanda Adair and husband Randy, Leagueville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Delton and Jan Worley, Edom, Tommy and Susan Worley, Cedar Creek Lake; her sister of the heart, Susan Beaird, Austin; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and many loved ones.
She also leaves behind her beloved and faithful dog and constant companion “Dandy”.
A memorial service will be Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, 2-4 p.m. at the East Texas Arboretum Women’s Building, 1601 Patterson Road, Athens, Texas 75751.
