Funeral services for Joyce Louise Turlington, 91 of Chandler are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2015 at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel with Rev. Frank Upchurch officiating. Burial will follow in Post Oak Cemetery in Cross Roads.
Louise passed away June 24, 2015 in Palestine.
She was born October 4, 1923 in Ringling, Oklahoma to Grady Franklin Lewis, Sr. and Clara Arminda Butler Lewis. She was a 1939 graduate of Cross Roads High School. Louise married the love of her life R.C. (Buster) Turlington in 1942 while he was home on leave from the Navy during World War II. They had 67 years of wonderful marriage. Some of those years were spent traveling and living in different states and countries before retiring to Lake Palestine and the Chandler area. She was a member of West Lake Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Buster and brother Grady Franklin Lewis, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter Janean Wacha and husband Ernest of Palestine; granddaughter Michelle Johnson and husband Les of Palestine; grandson Jason Wacha and wife Ashley of Whitehouse; great grandchildren Dylan Johnson, Bryce Wacha, Chase Wacha, Kynley Wacha and Addison Wacha; sister Twyla Stafford of Elk City, Oklahoma, numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jason Wacha, Bryce Wacha, Les Johnson, Dylan Johnson, Keith Weaver and Eric Vincent.
Visitation for family and friends will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
